Susan Brown,
President

Susan Brown majored in music at CSU Fullerton and studied French
Horn with Todd Miller. She currently plays in several groups
including the Southern California Philharmonic, the Orange
County Concert Band and the Golden West Pops. Susan's career has
been in banking and finance and she is currently the Business
Operations Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tustin.

Timothy Day,
Director
Originally from Colorado, Tim attended Pepperdine University on
a full percussion scholarship studying under marimba virtuoso
Vera Daehlin and world renowned drummers Casey Scheuerell and
Peter Erskine. Since graduating, Tim has performed well over
two thousand engagements ranging from; Symphonic (Downey
Symphony, Conejo Valley Symphony, Pacific Palisades Symphony),
Big Band, Salsa (Terremoto), Scottish Pipe Band (City of
Glendale), Jazz Trio (Dianne Gire 2 CDs, Shan Kenner 1 CD), Pit
Orchestra, Rock (Ray Brandes, Spun Records staff musician
multiple CDs), Illusionist (Harry Blackstone Jr.), Show Band
(Princess Cruise Lines), Corporate (Epic Entertainment, others),
Jingles (Apple Computer, General Motors, Susheido, Mitsubishi),
Original Film Scores and Music Supervision (Alfred Higgins
Productions), Latin Jazz (Jasso and Garcia 5 CDs). He
volunteers much of his spare time to various community and youth
music programs. |

Carol
Franchi, Treasurer
Carol Franchi has been with the Southern
California Philharmonic since 2008, traveling to China with the
group. She has held the position of Treasurer since 2009. As a
member of the flute section she is principal piccolo. Carol
also performs with several groups in the area including the OC
Flute Ensemble and is a founding member and the
Treasurer/Financial Director of the Golden West Pops, an adult
community concert band. Her professional background has been
in the accounting field for over 25 years holding management
positions in various companies in Orange County.

Pollyanna Gorman,
Director
Pollyanna Gorman graduated from the University of North Carolina
at Pembroke with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music
Education. She currently plays in various groups including:
Southern California Philharmonic, Orange County Mormon Choral
Organization and the Orange County Concert Band and is the
founding conductor of the Golden West Pops. Pollyanna is also
the Winds Coach for the Southern California Philharmonic. |

Karen Harms
Karen Harms graduated from the University of Northern
Colorado with degrees in Speech Pathology and Special
Education. While there she studied violin under Dr. Paul
Stoner. She later earned an MA from California State University
Fullerton in Communicative Disorders and worked for a number of
years as a Speech and Language Specialist with the Fullerton
High School District and in private practice. Karen has played
with community orchestras in Colorado, Utah, Riverside, Chapman
University, numerous high school and college musicals and with
the Fullerton Civic Light Opera. She continues as a member of
the Orange Coast College Symphony and the Southern California
Philharmonic. |
